Ban Inquiry/Appeal - Kate

Hey,

I'm not sure what warranted this ban. Up until about two weeks ago, I was able to log in.
I did ask a staff member about an infraction I had received because I had forgotten about it, but that's all I remember doing.

A permanent ban without a specified reason is very confusing to me, so I'm hoping some light could be shed on it.

To my knowledge, my email hasn't been hacked into *recently*. I did have an incident where I was hacked last year, but not around 3/22/2024.
Was there any activity that may have caused suspicion? Maybe Hennessy might know the answer to that; I'm just worried now--

Yes that’s actually the last thing I remember doing before I was banned.
I received an infraction from 2021 or 2022, and I forgot about it so I PMed Hennessy about it asking if they remember the details around it.
I can see now why that might be seen as suspicious account activity, but I’m still a bit concerned why it warranted a permanent ban, unless the contents of the private message were malicious in nature.

What can I do to fix the situation?

The message itself was not suspicious; it was the image link that looked malicious—a very long Imgur link. It looked off to him, as well as other staff members, so a ban was issued.

Last night was my first time hearing of this, and upon checking it out again, I believe this was an issue during parsing the image URL. The link is still a valid https://imgur.com domain, and the rest that follow that link are in the same format of random numbers and letters, with 4 dashes separating them, that I see with file names of images I export from my phone.

None of us had seen an Imgur link that long, as there are usually less than 10 characters between https://imgur.com and the file type, and your link also did not include a file type.*Malicious intent, such as an IP grabber, was speculated regarding this and a ban was initiated.
