If you can still get it to a normal PC, try formatting it, and wiping any file systems in place, try again, and if it still doesn't work, format it again with a different file system then before. (If it was NTFS, change it to FAT, and vice versa.)

This worked when OS X didn't detect a SETA drive when I made my hackintosh drive.

It still detects my shit HDD though, but it won't boot windows completely because the HDD is fucked.

Maybe the harddrive has bad clusters. Try to go into recovery console (use xp cd) and run CHKDSK. Itll detect bad clusters

I've tried that. Partially. I'll continue to try different formats.

I just did, and it came up good. No bad clusters.

if you can recover ANY date on it i would go buy a new laptop (Preferably an ALien Ware or Dell, IDC which one) and transfer date via Wireless Stream or by individual flashdrives that are lable with what they have like one for Nexon, one for Ntreev, ETC. If you buy a cheap laptop you could just MOD the thing and keep it running and working for 10 years max if you do that right. but once again im not ur inner voice. Follow you inner voice and do what you must, im just trying to help
