How To Increase Your Internet Speed By 20%(WORKING)
yo MPGH
Today i'am gonna show u How To Increase Your Internet Speed By 20% !
-If you use Windows XP Professional then it is possible to squeeze an extra 20% out of your internet connection. By default Windows XP Pro holds back 20% of your Internet speed for various services like windows update and spyware checks.
If you want to tap into this locked speed then make the following changes:

Test ur speed here Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test Before/After
    • 1. Go to Start-> Run-> and type gpedit.msc
    • 2. Expand the Administrative Templates branch
    • 3. Expand the Network tab
    • 4. Highlight QoS Packet Scheduler
    • 5. Click on Limit Reservable Bandwidth and check the enabled box
    • 6. Then Change the Bandwidth limit % to 0 %
  • Once you have done this click apply and restart your PC. After rebooting you should see a noticeable improvement in your net speed.
btw: srz for WS -.-

hmmm
How To Increase Your Internet Speed By 20% | Pc Tips Box

WRONG

Windows does not reserve any portion of bandwidth for any purpose at any time. However, a QOS aware application may request priority bandwidth. Even if this occurs there will be no bandwidth reduction unless it is actively using it. Any unused bandwidth will be available to other applications.

Automatic Update does not use QOS. It actually has a lower priority than other applications and uses only idle bandwidth that other applications are not using.

informative!!!
just follow some tips to make your speed up
-->Configure your browser so it won't display graphics, animations, sound, video or other multimedia content (see "How to Turn Off Sounds, Pictures or Video on Web Pages").
-->Surf when Internet traffic is low. Heaviest traffic is usually on weekends and evenings.
-->Use your cache effectively. "Cache" refers to storage space where your recently visited Web sites are saved. You may need to resize your cache allotment, or you may need to purge your cache periodically. Look through your browser's menus for items named Cache, Temporary Internet files and so on.
-->Upgrade your modem.
-->Consult with your Internet service provider to ensure that your modem is configured correctly.
-->Replace your telephone modem with a fast-access connection such as wave, ISDN, DSL, satellite, a cable modem.
and now check your connection speed here ScanmySpeed
even then your connection speed didnt get speed up then you better contact your service provider..
