Fromatting = completely wiping a certain part (or the whole) disk. Means it will lose all your data.

it wont let me delete some old CF files so I can install clean, how can I delte them, it keeps saying to try again but wont let me delete, help?

your solution is :
1.Reinstall windows
or
2.U musnt restart computer, if u restart then reinstall cf...Always run patcher_cf.exe dont run CrossFire whic is on desktop! go to C:/Program Files/Z8Games/CrossFire/crossfire_patcher.exe
u always must run that program, and every 10min u will get HGWC.exe ERROR sow, only way is to reinstall windows

Reinstalling is never "the only way". And yes, you can completely remove all traces of CF if you've got some common computer sense.
