I was going to post this in a separate thread, but for some reason it wouldn't let me.

Guide: How to make custom textures work after January 20th

So today Treyarch released a new patch. Many think that this patch fixed the texture hacks. It didn't, they just messed around with some stuff. I don't even think their intention was to "fix" texture mods, but they only broke it temporarily.

Anyway, here's how you update your files so you can yet again play CoD:BO with texture mods:

1. Navigate to the "..\Steam\SteamApps\common\call of duty black ops\main" folder.
2. Rename all your modded files like in this example: "iw_01.iwd" => "localized_English_bajs_iw_01.iwd".
3. Profit!

Doesn't seem to work with modified scopes, but at least my character textures still work. Thank you!

I'm unsure. The way he posted seemed as if a modified iw_06 would simply become localized_English_bajs_iw_06. My other textures work, but scopes cause a crash on start up.

try leaving the scopes and just convert the rest.

I did but Getting ERror : Could not load Default or Small Side etc...

I hope you are kidding, cause I don't know who this exclide dude is. I got the tip from a friend through Steam. When the patch was released and the textures stopped working I was googling for a solution and found this site. No solutions though. A few hours later a friend of mine told me how to fix it and I thought I would share it with you guys, since I could see that still no solution was posted. I even went through the hassle to create a user just to share the solution with you guys, so if you're gonna give me that shit about me ripping off other people's solutions, then you can go fuck yourself and this forum. Way to greet new members.
