I would say the bleach manga is much better than the anime.
JiuOhSei is a short anime (like 11 or 12 episodes) and has plenty of action and a good plot.
Ergo Proxy is another one i liked, but its slow and requires you to remember a lot to get everything in the end.
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is sweet, like this should definitely be on your list.
