Here is a quick markup of the idea, mostly from head to ps , but just for a understanding, something clean, elegant, not too grungy, something that will catch your eye, but not be overwhelming.

Looking good, I like the direction, but keep in mind the basic theme, Colors and Concept crucial, IE Blues, Gaming Hacks, all these things will help a targeted ad.

It's definitely flashy. Catches your eye, but like you said, it can't be overwhelming, and for an ad, this would be overdoing it I think.
However, when I get my computer fixed (or get a new one... -_-) I can give this a shot.
Though I doubt it would be reasonable to wait that long.
I expect that to take a month max.
