All I know is the basics
Well, The game is made up of many .dlls and .rez files and etc... Coming together to create the visuals, animations, and sounds within the game. When you use an injector to forcibly insert a new .Dll into the game, The game reads this as a part of it. Injectors are actually used in game developing to try out new components so they have a less sinister value as well.
You literally alter the game or "trick" it. I hope this explains it. So this hack becomes incorporated into the game just like a new character or gun would be.
hacks work like following:
First they get attached into crossfire.exe
Then they look for the addy or values u programmed for. After they found it, they change the value u like.
So hey hack into crossfire´s memory and change values

You need to make a hack with C++.
Then when you finished the .dll you can't just go and hack, you need an injector.
You can make your own injector with C++ too,VB is a lot easier.
Or you could use someone else injector.
Else you can leave the injector and let the people choose.(You don't upload an injector with the file .)
It's all about coding.
Wallhack is: Changing rez files, and chaning the colour of the players, and the positions and like that things.
That's are my basics what i can tell you.
I know more, but it's a long story.
I personally think hacks just change values that cause the memory to be read differently.
Such as an HP hack. The value of HP is found and changed.
Or walking through walls. Collision to objects is turned off by simply changing a value and then the objects that you couldn't regularly walk through are not registered as they were before.
Correct me if I'm wrong, since I know there is something wrong in my explanation.
