No clue whatsoever. If it's gonna be this complicated, I'd rather wait to buy a preflashed and possibly modded (with the lights and better performance n shit) or say fuck it, buy games.

Its not as complicated as it sounds. I flashed my console myself without any previous knowledge of PC parts, applications, and the anatomy of my console. Just followed a tut.

Though, can't say that anymore. I live on my PC/xbox.

Xbox>PC (with gaming) because you don't need to have any special stuff like graphics cards and all that to upgrade it to its top performance. Consoles are premade to be epic.

I'll end up fucking it up somehow... especially seeing how my last project turned out with making my old 360 hdd work on the new 360s...

Not necessarily. PC's have always been superior when it comes to gaming, or well, everything. Everything in a 360 is outdated. Max resolution it supports is 1280x720; 1080p is a lie. Consoles are popular because, as you said, they are premade, and don't require anything to upgrade to play the latest games. PC's will take about $800 to make the ultimate system.

I'd give it a try. You can always put the stock firmware back onto it.

When you flash the xbox 360, you're putting a custom firmware (called LT+) onto the disc drive, which allows the play of burned games. If the flashing is unsuccessful, which is rare, then you can reflash the original firmware back on.
