It's probably either a fucked PSU or a fucked mobo but the machine has these random errors where the screen gets all fked up and the PC just stops working(I assumed up until now that was an error with one of my OpenGl drivers - but I'm using an onboard. Now I know it's probably the onboard). Anyways, so I've stored my epic Quake Hack + My Alterations library on there - which I spent like a week writing - and now it won't even turn on. My parents are going to bring it to the 'PC' place and they don't even know what a HDD is so it's not like I can extract all my shit from it. So yeah I'm hoping it turns on within the next five hours otherwise there goes a week of my life(This problem has occured before and it jus resolved itself...)

My dad's mad at me and said its because of all the windows I usually have open >>

Get a flash drive, grab unetbootin, grab a the latest live version of ubuntu / debian and try recovering. Might just be a Windows issue

This has happened to me before lol..

My computer wasn't turning on i thought it was either a GPU overheat or a fucked up windows partition.
My friend brought his computer over, we took out his gpu, put in mine, his OS started up fine..
Then we put his in mine, it started up but the OS was all laggy and took like 5 minutes to open up google chrome
I have 8gigs ram/sixcores 1100t/ati 5700

Then i just unplugged his dvd drive and used the cable to plug in my HDD from my computer backed up all the data, formatted, reinstalled my OS then copied my important files back overnight.

If you have absolutely no beeps, it could be your 12v atx plug.

Take out your CMOS battery and put back in and see if it helps, if it doesnt you're going to want to try a different PSU.
