SSDs are also expensive as fuck. I might consider getting one for a boot drive but besides that, I don't find it necessary.

OK don't ever get 16Gigs of ram From the post I've read above, you should get better GPU's and 8gigs of ram, throw in a SSD if you have the money

I'm overclocking to around 30%. It's the only reason I considered water cooling. Else I would have stayed on air.

Also, @Charizard, 2x Velociraptor 300gb would cost me around $500 whilst 2x 1tb HDDs would run me around $100-$150, depending on the brand I decide to buy. It just doesn't seem worth it to me.

And, @Bombsaway707Jr, I think 2x Radeon 6950s will suffice for even the most graphic intense games.

Case, MoBo, cooling, and then mouse, head-set, and the what-nots.

Oh, and the sound card. Forgot about that. And my network card. I said should. I don't plan on making this myself either.

still, a mobo, both those cards, your ram, your processor and PSU should cost under 1500 which means you would have to spend over 1000 dollars on a case, cooling, mouse, headset, and sound card, a network card is cheap as shit.

Why would I need to lie about a price? Fuck, I'll go conjure the screen for you.

    Corsair 800D - $275
    ASUS Maximus IV $370
    Intel Sandy Bridge i7-2600k - $315
    Corsair Dominator - $130 (8GB); $230 (16GB)
    XFX Radeon 6950 - 2x @ $550
    VisionTek 2100 Network Card - $70
    Creative Sound Blaster Titanium Fatal1ty - $150
    Samsung 1TB HDD - 2x @ $130
    Corsair HX1000W - $230
    LG Optical Drive - $100

If I missed anything, feel free to tell me. Total adds up to around $2,250/$2,350 and let me state one more time that I am NOT building this myself. This doesn't account for any water-cooling parts because I have yet to decide on them.

You're spending needlessly on that system, not only could you substitute it for cheaper parts but you can find cheaper prices for the parts you're getting.
