For Superior iron ores:

Go to the second map of fruitful.
set enemy reaction delays to 999999.
bind a button to give you some mining bombs.
bind a button to set host speed 10.
bind a button to reload random sector.

find ore
blow stuff up
spam e
reload map
repeat

if ores stop appearing log off and log in.

I know it still works because this morning i farmed about 130 superiors in 8 minutes.

Yes but not necessarily as much as you'd think. It changes the how fast things update in the game but not how fast they draw. the latter being the more expensive of the two as far as processing power goes (most of the time). The worst effects I've managed to encounter are slight dips in frame rate. Of course I've only kept it at speeds where the game is still feasibly playable.
