strings...? like what
Does anybody know how to find strings in OllyDbg. I can find it in PE Editor, but I am having some trouble in Olly.
If you think this is the wrong section for this thread and/or do not want to help please ignore this thread.
I am not a leech, but software hacks is not my cup of tea. I am mainly for OSes and networks.
Please do not write flaming messages because it does nothing more than clog the thread (and testify for your retardedness).
Thank you for any help.
Strings... he`s trying to make a bypass by looking for the error messages as strings in olly to make them not effect the game or show up.
Stop flaming each other, it helps no one, and causes a step backwards rather than a step forwards.
Read the rules before you decide to voice your opinion.
Check your Grammar/Spelling/Facts before typing, otherwise I or another member will do it for you. And that just makes you look stupid.
Right click-->Search for-->All referenced text strings, if I remember correctly.
When you're doing it, make sure that the engine is unpacked first because UPX causes all of the strings to become hidden. (Pretty gay)
Then once your unpacked engine is loaded into OllyDbg, "right click" then click "search for" then click "All referenced text strings"
If I helped, THNX ME!
then you can right click on that and hit search for text for a specific line.
yeah kvizzle, wtf?

The method that you have described gives you a list of all the text string used. Also, when I go through the list I couldn't find the error message I was looking for: "Fail to update protection modules". I have unpacked the Engine using PE Explorer, and I can find the string in PE Explorer.
Olly has decided to play fucking mind tricks, so I have decided to kick it square in the arse and go onto PE Explorer. How do you prevent the messages from showing up in PE Explorer?
Yes, you can laugh at my pathetic state.
my bad i typed that up and didnt realise his... damn im sorry.
When you search, search for the entire scope.
