Does anybody on here have soundboard experience?

hey guys recently I was hired to control the soundboard at my church, and I have very little experience. The previous guy is leaving in a month but he is giving me some instruction. I only am working with 5 channels, 3 singers and 2 guitarists. My main concern is counteracting feedback, if anybody could give me some tips I would really appreciate it. Sorry if nobody has any idea what im talking about I just dont want to seem like a n00b and fuck up the audio

well I havent gone to church for years. My dad told me they were like going nuts cause they really needed someone to control the soundboard. they are gonna pay me $40 bucks per session to move some dials back and forth sounded good to me
