    Blue Screen of Death?

So my PC randomly crashed and I as taken to a blue screen. It was familiar and I recognized it as the blue screen of death. This is the first time it ever happens to me in 2 years. I am not sure what may have caused it since my computer is up to date, I run virus scan every week, and I hardly even use it.

Something like that but not entirely. The second line wasn't that, but I can't remember since the screen went from the BSoD to windows login. Anyways, I need to know why this happens, and how I can prevent it. Thanks.

tl;dr I got the BSoD and I want to know why it happens and how to prevent it. Thanks.

Oh no....not the blue screen! Lol turn it off and turn it back on theres a good chance it won't show up again, you can run in safe mode too if you'd like.

Yea I got to a black screen which said like "Run in safe mode" "Run windows normally". I chose run in safe mode. But I am on my phone right now. So I will just turn it off and hope it goes away.

No. I hardly use my PC. I only go on when I am really, really bored. Which was today. I was going to play Combat Arms () but it didn't work so I closed it and BAM! BSoD. I haven't dont anything with my PC since I bought it.

System restore only affects the computer right? I have some work on it from like a year ago and I don't want to lose it. And I don't have a USB or something to back it up on.

You guys are all fucking idiots, no need to system restore, or run in safe mode. His PC crashed, that's it. He can reboot it back up, and move on.

If you got that after running a file, I suggest you take a look in your processes for anything suspicious, and your registry and run on startup in msconfig. If you don't find anything, move on.

Ah okay. I don't really want to system restore since I am scared of it.
Okay thanks. Well nothing is running right now except Google Chrome so thanks. Can you close this? @Fuko

I don't have any powers outside of my own section. Mention a GMOD or something.
