After the last thing I posted here (Custom skin/URL overrider) was removed without any kind of message as to why, I figured I would try something different before reuploading the other hack.
I just quickly wrote this program as I got fed up of every update/whatever meaning I had to repatch the license strings - so I wrote this tool to automate it.

Ive tested the program on 1.6.6, 1.7.1-1.7.3, however there is no reason it should not work on other versions since it scans the files for the license strings and removes them.

Requires .net Framework 2.0

Will replace my unlicensed copy text removal for 1.7.2 and 1.7.3

Next version (no idea when) will allow you to replace the strings with your own text (so e.g. you could have the version number in the top right)

Have you already modified the strings in the vu.class file? This requires the strings to be unchanged (for example, the file you posted to remove them here would mean that the text was already changed). Use a clean Minecraft.jar and if that still doesn't work let me know.

I could also add in "hardcoded" offsets for known versions, however if you were to decompile+recompile the classes the values would be incorrect and probably corrupt the file. I'll give that some thinking and see what happens.

I use winrar...
Ok i redownloaded minecraft removed unlicensed copy string...
After i wanted put my mods in minecraft.rar
I couldnt...
WinRAR gave me error...
I hope you fix it soon!

Interesting, not sure if this is fixable since it uses a third-party library for Zip stuff. I just tested and confirmed that this happens - however if you do Tools->Repair Archive the archive is recreated successfully.
I'll try a different library and see what the results are like

You maybe can make it recreate the the the .rar?
It maybe can be possible but it i think it gonna be hard...
