My First Gun

Hey guys. My dad said that he would be interested in taking me to a range. I'm wondering, should I go for pistol training or go and buy a .22? I'm leaning towards the pistol training, but it's a pain to have to go to a range and my dad isn't always available... any advice? Thanks.

Get yourself a bolt action .22 rifle, and have you dad teach you the proper ways to handle a fire arm safely. The reason for the bolt action is to teach you patience, and it helps you learn to take proper aim before squeezing the trigger. Any training that you can get wouldn't hurt at all, but you should know, having a gun hobby is like smoking crack... You can never seem to acquire enough fire arms, or spend enough time on the range.


You'll enjoy it, and if you stick to it it'll become like an extension of your being.
