Introduction◊
This is basically a semi-complete guide on how to do thing's in minecraft. I have seen many people asking "How to use?" in a lot of posts. So i've decided to make this thread as a semi-complete source of how to's for minecraft. If anyone asks any of the questions in the table of contents, please refer them to this thread.

How to Install Mods◊
To some people, minecraft itself is boring, and to them, mods make it "un-boring." Mods are like extensions to the game. A basic mod is composed of .CLASS files, .PNG images, and maybe .TXT files. The .CLASS file is the most important, and contains vital information of the mod and the game, the .PNG images just show how the modded item should look like, and the .TXT file just contains some miscellaneous info.
Now, mods can be found in the
MPGH Minecraft Mods section or be found on the official Minecraft forums. First thing you will need to do is download the mod. Now keep in mind most mods require a mod called Modloader, which is used to help mods "cooperate" with each other. In rare cases, you will need the Audiomod(which allows you to use custom sounds) and a GUIAPI mod(advanced GUI options).
Now, the mod should be in a .RAR or .ZIP file:
You can extract it using WinRAR or 7zip(in this example, i use WinRAR):
Once you've extracted it, you should have 2 folders. In most cases, you should only have .CLASS files and a folder or two, but if you have a README file, i suggest you read it. Now you can install the mod by dragging the contents of both extracted files into your minecraft.jar(refer to the How to find your .minecraft folder part of this guide if you have trouble locating it):
Inside your minecraft.jar, you will find a folder called META-INF, delete it:
Now your done and ready to play!

How to use texture packs◊
A texture pack is the theme of minecraft. They range from realistic themes to fantasy themes. Using them can enhance your experience in minecraft. They can also be in different resolutions, such as 16x, 32x, 64x, 128x, 256x, 512x. The higher the resolution, the better it will look, but will also get more lag if your GPU can't handle the texture pack.
To install a texture pack, you first will have to download it from the
MPGH MInecraft Textures & Skins section or the official minecraft forums:
Now, HD texture packs require your minecraft.jar to be patched in order to use them. Download the patcher from the Textures & Skins sections and patch it like so:
After that, just move it to your Texture Packs folder inside your .minecraft folder:
You are now done!
◊
How to find your .minecraft folder◊
Your .minecraft folder contains the core files of Minecraft. Without it, you will not be able to play Minecraft. Inside it is your bin folder(containing your minecraft.jar), your Resources folder(which contains the sounds for MC), your Saves folder(which contains your saved worlds), your Stats folder(which contains logs of your activity in MC), your Texture Packs folder(which contains your downloaded texture packs), a file called lastlogin(which contains your login info), and an Options.txt(which contains your settings for MC). There are 3 methods, and i will show you all 3.
Method #1:
To locate it, open My Computer and type in %appdata% in the address bar:
You will then see your .minecraft folder on top:
Double click it and you will see all the folders and files listed above:
You have just learned the first way. The second method is different and maybe simpler, which i will show you now.
Method #2:
Open Minecraft, click on the Texture Packs tab and click Open texture packs folder:
You are currently in your .minecraft, now go up 1 folder and you will see all the folders and files listed above:
Now you know 2 methods, and now for the last one. Its pretty much like Method #1, but its easier in the long run.
Method #3:
Do method #1. When you enter your %appdata%, right click on your .minecraft folder, select Send To and select desktop:
This will make a shortcut on your desktiop directly linking you to your .minecraft folder:
Now you've learned all 3 methods on how to access your .minecraft folder!

How to use other people's worlds◊
You need to know this if you plan of using other peoples worlds. You can download the worlds from the
MPGH Minecraft Creations section or the official Minecraft Forum.
First you'll will need the world. It should be in a .RAR or .ZIP file:
Unzip it and you should end up with a folder, move the folder into your Saves folder inside your .minecraft folder:
Now, just open minecraft and your downloaded world should be there!

One of the key features of MPGH is its minecraft server, MPGHCraft. I personally have played it and it was a load of fun, but setting it up is complicated.

How to create a server◊
Minecraft itself is very fun, but when you play with other people, it gets more fun. Thats why you need a server, I, personally, have never set up a server, but i have found some guides that can help you set up your own Minecraft Server.
