What PC parts should I get?

Alright so here's my system specs I'm mainly looking to replace my mobo and ram

    Asus P5K Motherboard
    4GB 1066 DDR2
    Intel 2.4 Ghz Quadcore
    Asus Gforce EN GTS 450 1GB GDDR5
    650Watt power supply

Now I don't have that much to spend on new parts so i'm looking for something that's 6/10 or 7/10

    Prefer a gaming motherboard
    I have 2 sticks of 1GB of DDR3 1333 that I can use but I'll need more.
I really don't want to replace my processor yet due to how much a new one costs but will finding a motherboard that supports the pins for my current processor cause me an issue say if i wanted to get an i7 down the road.

Processor socket types will be different and your current processor wont be able to do DDR3 let alone being able to find your socket type on a mobo that does dd3.

    Gahh

Well there was an MSI motherboard that supported my socket type but I don't want to use this quadcore much longer maybe less then a year or so.
and recommended motherboards i should get for an I7 and how much would that cost me
    I don't want to go over 250-300

Asus or Gigabyte is the best Motherboards... Then you have to choose between socket 1366 or socket 1155 for your Core i7...

Buy socket 1336 since you're short on money.
And you could overclock an i7 960 to 4.5GHz easily with a good CPU cooler.

Socket 1155 for the motherboard, no need to waste money on a 1336 motherboard now a days especially with z68 mobos being relatively cheap. 1336 CPU are hella expensive and whilst very overclockable I don't see the benefit when you can adopt a newer technology with similar performance plus 1155 will allow you to upgrade from a budget i3 or i5 to an i7 without having to switch socket types.

To go with that video card an i5 2300 should be sufficient until you can afford an i7 2600K

    6GB DDR3 Ram

i5 2500K is probably good enough for everything.

It's not needed when he has only one graphics card.

Yeah what I was thinking, especially if he isn't going to upgrade much else. Just overclock it slightly and its as good as the i7.

Yeah, my P67 chipset mobo doesn't allow OCing my CPU.
I'm planning to buy another motherboard.
Gonna give my Sabertooth P67 to my little sister.
Also gonna buy her an i3 core.
