The server is running Bukkit along with multiple plugins including:

Citizens
Essentials (and EssentialsEconomy)
Factions
HeroChat
MobArena
MobBounty
Jobs
Lockette
Dynmap
And more


It is running on a small VPS which I will add more RAM to as I get donations (Currently running on 1GB RAM), so there shouldn't be much lag.

Features

The server is running the Factions plugin, and for a cost ($5000 ingame money), players can set up their own factions. These factions can claim land, which nobody from outside the faction will be able to build in, form alliances with other factions or wage war against rival factions.

There are 2 starting towns, and more will be built as factions are created and more players join. Both towns have various shops, but instead of using the usual chest or sign shops, these shops are run by functioning NPCs. To use a shop, simply right click the NPC twice (Once to select, once to open the shop menu) and right click the item you wish to buy twice (Do not drag to your inventory, this is for admins stocking the traders).

Other NPCs include guards, who will attack any mobs in the town, and blacksmiths, who will repair tools and armour for a price.

Players can also get jobs, and will get paid an amout defined by how many times they have performed the actions on that particular job's checklist. There are different levels for each job, which provide more money and exp than the lower levels. The jobs are:

Woodcutter
Miner
Builder
Digger
Farmer
Hunter
Fisherman
Unemployed


More jobs will be added if we get requests from players. Different things determine money and exp given to a player for each job.

Woodcutter

Woodcutters get money and exp by:

Breaking logs
Placing saplings
Killing hunters



Miner

Miners get money and exp by:

Breaking stone
Breaking coal ore
Breaking redstone ore
Breaking iron ore
Breaking gold ore
Breaking lapis ore
Breaking diamond ore
Breaking obsidian
Breaking mossy cobble
Placing rails
Placing iron & gold ore
Killing hunters



Builder

Builders get money and exp by:

1. Placing:

Cobblestone
Wood
Fence
Wool
Stone
Glowstone
Sandstone
Glass
Brick
Lapis Block
Steps
Bookshelves
Wooden Stairs
Stone stairs
Mossy cobblestone
Diamond block
Gold block


And killing hunters.


Digger

Diggers get money and exp from:

Breaking dirt
Breaking grass
Breaking gravel
Breaking sand
Breaking clay
Killing hunters



Farmer

Farmers get money and exp from:

Breaking crops (fully grown)
Breaking sugarcane
Placing seeds
Placing sugarcane
Killing hunters



Hunter

Hunters only get money and exp from killing things. Anything. Including players.


Fisherman

Fishermen get money and exp from:

Catching fish
Killing hunters


Unemployed

Unemployed players can only get money and exp from killing hunters. However, all players get an instant payment for killing certain types of mobs.


There are only 10 slots for each job, to stop everybody from becoming a hunter. To join a job, use:

/jobs join [job]


e.g.
/jobs join Miner
would join the Miners.


Chest and door protection


The server features the plugin "Lockette", which allows players to protect their doors and chests using signs. To protect a chest, place a sign on a block next to it, with [Private] on the first line. If done correctly, your name should appear on the second line. For doors, place a sign on the block above the door with [Private] on the first line. This also works for double doors. Nobody except admins can go into a door or chest that is protected by another player unless their name is added to the sign by that player. Protection signs are also unbreakable to anyone but admins or the creator of the sign.
