Yup that we could, however I still will disagree that you are the first person to get the gun. I say this simply for the fact that there were 400-1000 other people on maybe at 1 minute after patching the game or if they had a faster cpu then 10 minutes before.. Simply as this. Everyone known that if you go threw the direct game in the CA folder when a patch is within 20-30 minutes of finishing you can log into the game. You can have a disconnect here and there but your still in the game. Also everything that was in the patch is in the game with you. There is no way to prove you were the first, but there is also no way to prove you weren't end of conversation.

Well at least they got rid of 1 day weapons. That really pissed the shit outta me, this is the only update that isn't full of fail. good stuff.
