Most people, even exercise buffs, can't comfortably get past 7 (which is only 28 push-ups).
When you lift your arms above your head, you tighten your muscles. At the 5th or 6th set (6 push-ups and 6 arm-raises) you'll start to feel it when you lift your arms over your head.
I made it to 10 the first time I tried, and could hardly lift my arms the rest of the day.
