I'm positive there are certain rights you can't waive in virtual terms.
Anyway, this makes me happy. This means it's likely it would be harder to hack and more difficult to get around bans, because I selfishly want a legitimate playing experience in this game; even though I've used hacks on others.
Make an Origin Emulator that can connect to servers? That would be a massive project, but it would be one hell of a way to beat Origin.
Also, I don't believe Origin will sell or give out your personal information. That would cause EA to lose customers and it's reputation, and EA loves to be out on top with sales. It most likely performs a system scan and searches for certain things like a few of Bethesda's games do (in the sense that you can't have programs like Daemon Tools installed and such).
Actually I think they will sell info to advertisers. They won't include personal info but they will sell data.
With that though, I'm sure it will only be for companies that are wondering what gets searched by certain demographics, so that they can advertise more effectively.
They're not trying to do a really hardcore sting operation for your porn.
Edit: ^ Which is what a lot of people are freaking the fuck out about.
they are a phising program. it will look for everything and anything. but thats okay we can just not choose to install it or delete it after its installed.
Do you know how many people pirate stuff? Origin won't do anything, it would take years to find the pirated stuff on my computer and its in plain view, computers are stupid and they don't have eyes.
And I seriously doubt bf3 will use Origin, they will probably switch to Steam in my opinion.
