Play minecraft on Low-end Laptop?

I used to be able to, but ever since 1.8, I can't anymore, in-browser or downloaded client. Can someone tell me a site, maybe, where I can play a previous version in-browser?

Solution: There are many solutions. You can either search for my Optifine Post using the search bar and downloading the 2nd optifine and change all video settings to bad making increase FPS. Or you can go to minecraft - options - video settings and make the Balanced - MAX FPS, Graphic to Fast, Smooth Lightning to OFF and other things that might affect minecraft

That fixes things! First, you will need to update your GRAPHICS CARD. Either going to the brand website of your graphic cards brand. For example G-Force Graphic cards you go to that G-Force company website and choose your current video card and update it. Or You go to YouTube and search how to update your video cards. I don't know cuz im not on PC
