Use Avast , it dont use much CPU and Ram.
im using it almost 2 years.
Hmm , try Nod32.
and actual if u had problems with Avast Internet Security , u can use the Free Version it dont conflict with Gameguard.
Nvm my PC is very Secure : Microsoft Security Essentials , Avast Internet Secuirty , Iobit Malware Fighter ,AntiLogger and Mamutu.
My CPU and Ram dont lagg with these.
Iobit sucks.

Malwarebytes has recently uncovered evidence that a company called IOBit based in China is stealing and incorporating our proprietary database and intellectual property into their software. We know this will sound hard to believe, because it was hard for us to believe at first too. But after an indepth investigation, we became convinced it was true. Here is how we know.
Avira is a joke ... (almost as funny as AVG *lawl*) a bad one, getting an infected file with that is really high because it downloads it and you can execute it and then after some seconds it shows you the options what to do ... after the drop.agent is already spreading YAY.
MSE downloads it too but while download it already detects and deletes it, ESET NOD 32 and AVAST both block already when you click on a link (no matter if it is 6 times zipped) and block the URL.
since you said you already had some trouble with avast there's only MSE or ESET to go ... both detect virus, trojans and rootkits very good but they are quite different.
in MSE there isn't much to configure and there's no real log after a scan, ESET NOD 32 has that feature (ok tbh: I have commercial version for server here only ^_^) even though ESET also gives additional information about zipped files if it is damaged or not which in most cases is a wrong information and the log is not scrollbar till the end of the line so you'd have to c&p into a new textfile ...
when MSE is searching or even updating, you will notice a performance-decrease of your system for that amount of time, no matter the PC while for ESET it's almost as smooth as AVAST
Anyway if I remember correct, there is no real free version of ESET after all - either you have a license or a crack, MSE is free (even for 10 commercial computer).
And keep in mind: No matter which program you use, the security-problem mostly is the user himself ^_^ and checking from time to time with tools like SUPERAntiSpyware (I prefer that over Malwarebytes) and such surely is a nice thing.
Oh, one last thing - I know AVAST has a search-before-Windows-boot, not sure about other having it too, MSE has that feature not, dunno 'bout ESET

Eset Nod 32 is amazing, Had it for 3 years and still ballin'.
MSE is simple to use but also effective.
