Go into GFX, the field is booming atm.

The medical field is always gonna have a steady stream of competition, so might as well go into something you're already good at.

Both fields of work can be very profitable. A talented doctor will earn good money, and has a good rep. Since it runs in your blood, chances are you will be a natural. GFX design can be even more profitable. But it's sort of a hit or miss. You have to know where and when to apply for a position.

It's a hard decision which will affect my whole adult life and I want to be careful with this.
Go with Graphic Design, but do yourself a favor and don't go to specific with designing. You want to be able to learn as much as possible in a lot of different areas. A lot of companies prefer hiring a generalist who has one they're good at, then hire a specialist who is only good at one thing. So maybe study CGI, film making, story-boarding then you could get a career in advertising or film making. Or perhaps you can study web design, graphic design, and printing, and you could get a career in brand building. I guess don't pigeonhole yourself into just graphic design, and try and study the visual arts as a whole. If you work hard enough, you'll have a skillset that will not only be personally rewarding but also financially. Graphic designers don't earn a great amount of money (unless they're extremely talented), so you want to be able to do more than just that.

Iunno if that makes sense But that's what I am trying to do.

That is some fine advice right there and @Haze, if I were you then I would take it. I never took the chances I was given but I am one of the rare people who was given a second chance and fell into a good job just out of chance.

Don't be one of them people.

    Well here are your outcomes.
Doctor: Study a lot and have a good amount of debt coming out of college. Once you get a stable job pay it off after a while. You would have the financial security, though you would be pretty busy and not enjoy your life much. Once you retire though you would have a large amount in your savings and could do what you want to do then. You would be in your 50's or 60's though so you would be way past your prime.

GFX: Shorter college education. It isn't that hard to find a GFX job now a days either. You wouldn't have the financial security that the doctor would give you, but you could at least be doing something you want to do. You also wouldn't have to worry about the constant stress of others lives in your hands. The stress that can build from that is immense. My mom is a nurse and her job can stress her out insanely. With GFX you could always be more relaxed with life. The one thing is though, if you do end up finding the right company and the right "section" of graphics design you could end up making over 100k per year. If you go into a less wealthy company or worse section you might be limited (as a senior graphics designer) making only say 60k. That is still a very steady income. Obviously doctors would make well more than double or even triple that, but hey, might as well do what you love (in my opinion).

Just some websites I found while looking for you: Medical News, FAQ, and Pearls: How much do doctors and physicians make? How Much Does A Graphic Designer Make: Infograph | Genius Business | Redding Ca Marketing, SEO, & Graphic Design

It's up to you. Just choose what you think is right.
