As for the piece you're working on, it actually has potential to be a decent manip.
You need to shade in areas of the pyramid, because it's too bright in spots and not relevant to the atmosphere
You shouldn't have centered the focal either, because you could have added more stuff to the stock,
now you only have so much room to work with.

Wanted to transfer to Illy, but it's so fucking weird since I can't stroke my pentooling (or at least I don't know how to), can't put a background (-//-) etc.

Yeh i agree, just add some burn and dodge effects to the pyramid.
And then since the pyramid is on blue give it a bit of a blue tint on the bottom.
