Who want's MGold(forum gold) to exist?

So, I've said it a few times since I've been here at MPGH. I'd like to see MPGH have forum gold. Forum gold could be used to trade for in-game items between MPGH users.

I suggest that we should each be able to earn .01, or .1 Forum gold per post, and Dave should sell forum gold for an additional profit. This would ofc make more moderation required to prevent spam, but I think the benifits out weigh that.

I however doubt people are actually going to use it as valuta, as no one would value MGold over RSGP/accounts for example

It's hardly horrible... MPGH has a large group of people playing games that have items that could be traded for forum gold. The thing about FG is that you could trade all your stuff from one game, and retrade it for a game that you play more often.

No doubt it takes time to establish itself in the "in-game" community, but once it does then VIPs, and forum gold buying would go way up.

How many kids with their mommys credit card would buy some FG(MGold) to make their e-penis larger?

Ontop of trading in-game value, you could make it so you could buy stuff on the forum with it also.... Maybe a name color/posting abbilities.

As Ravallo siad, experience / credits are already implemented, your suggestion is redundant.

When I was a kid I used to play Diablo II LoD, and there was a forum(I wont mention which) that became a place to trade in-game items for in-game items. Eventually their forum gold became a valued thing.

2k fg at this forum would be around $40... Basically people buying a FAKE currency for REAL money,

MPGH could only stand to profit from this idea. There isn't any way that money could be lost, only gained, so that in itself makes it a good suggestion to try.

So basically, the gold is a temporary currency used to help trading in the Market Place? To be honest, I like the idea, but it won't work. Too many people will choose to trade for real money or in-game currency, rather than to go through the trouble of trading each other the MPGH Gold and then getting the items through that. It's like an extra step needed in the process of using the Marketplace in my opinion

You could, but the shop is offline, as is the whole system because of the stress / bugs it caused. Unless you have a forum gold implementation that works more efficiently than that, good luck. And MPGH could profit from the credits system much like it could from your forum gold one.

I think we should give the idea a few test runs with select people in the community, sort of like beta testers for the MPGH Gold idea. It's worth taking a look into if it does in fact generate revenue.

I believe I know one website offering something similar, and I must say that's going very well by the looks of it: making this quite a good suggestion.

However, as I stated above: someone is going to end up with nothing (unless you can sell back to MPGH (at a lower rate?)).
Another option would be offering something exlusively for MGold, the '****@mpgh.net' email domains for example, but that would 'lessen' the Experience Shop

- We'd need to improve the Marketplace activity to make this work
- The advantage of having MGold would be the ease of making payments: it's fast and can't be disputed like PayPal (if there's a proven scam it could be refunded manually though)

It couldn't fall, only rise. Like I said, it would most likely take time to cetch on largly out-side of the MPGH community, but once it does MPGH would recieve more traffic, and money for FG(basically free money). MPGH is well known among a lot of gaming communities, so it isn't a difficult strech to imagion people trading on the forum with a currency only found on MPGH.

The fact is, MPGH users (like me for example) stick around even after they're tired of the game they originally joined for(hacks). I'f MPGH is also associated with in-game trading that could only increase the traffic, FG purchases, and VIP purchases. And assholes like myself, would have a currency that would be tradable (for what ever game I get into) assuming I found someone else that plays the game, and is interested in FG.

MPGH wouldn't buy back any FG. FG could only be earned through posting, or buying it directly. THere for increasing activity on the forum(more money for MPGH) or people buying FG(more money for MPGH)
