Textmode Idling is the Best Idling!

No longer will you try to find idling servers, as this requires no such thing!

This is an extremely simple way to idle when AFK or when you want to something else on the computer without tf2 actively running. Follow these simple steps and enjoy your effortless drops!

    1. Open Steam and Navigate to your Library Page.
    2. Find Team Fortress 2 and Right click on it.
    3. Select Properties
    4. In the window that appears, click "Set launch options..."
    5. In the textbox in the window that appears, paste the code below.
    6. Click Ok, followed by Close.
    7. Launch TF2, and go do whatever you want.
    8. ???????
    9. PROFIT

    Code:
-textmode -nosound -noipx -novid -nopreload -nojoy -sw -maxplayers 2 +sv_lan 1 +map "itemtest"

The code launches tf2 in textmode(-textmode), disables sound, IPX support, video, preloading, and joystick. Starts in a window(-sw) and starts a local server on your computer.

Note: Although this doesn't require you to join any servers, you still need have an internet connection for this to work.

If you have any questions or require help, feel free to ask me.

    Enjoy idling!

Yes, you need open slots in your backpack in order to receive items.

When you launch TF2 with these options you automatically start a server on your computer and join it, so there is no need to enter any other servers.

    Lightbulb

Yes,you will still able to play other games if you mean that.
You go back to Steam/Library/right click on Team Fortress 2/Properties/Set Launch Options/and then you delete what is there, click ok and finish, back to normal.
And you don't get ban if you do this.

BTW how do I use the quote?

Simply remove the code in the launch options text box.

No, this uses mechanics that are provided explicitly by Valve's own game engine.

Close the tf2 window, remove the launch options, then launch as normally. The items will be in your backpack.
