If I could I would rather read a factual book instead.

This does have good reviews though so we won't know until we read it.

Has anyone ITT read a book about people living in space, who fly into an alternate galaxy and this chemical comes into their ship.. and the chemical turns inanimate objects into monsters and takes control of all the cleaning robots -- and all the life-forms try and kill humans?

Reece, there's no such thing as a beginner reader. As long as you are intelligent enough to understand what he is writing about, you'll be fine.

Read some classics like The Stand or Call of the Wild.
