Voted because I can
So I'm 18 years old. I'm looking to get a full time job and go to college part-time for the next 5-6 years. I'd like to move to either Texas or DC. I'm just not sure which would be best. I haven't made a decision for almost 2 years now and I'd like some other's opinions.
Music Production
This would be sort of a long shot. I've been messing around with DAW software since I was about 14. I love spending all of my free time messing with FL Studio but with my ADHD, I can never finish anything. I guess I could say I'm alright. Just need more experience in mixing and FM synthesis. I either want to produce for a major label studio in Texas or produce dance/dubstep and do shows.
Software/Game Programmer
I've always dreamed of making an online FPS video game. I spend all of my time on the PC anyways. I took C++ classes before but they were pretty crappy. I can read a little C++ but it was pointless in trying to teach me how to write basic functions, headers, ect. Basically spent $100 to learn how to make a + & - calculator. I'd love to do it but there are really no schools around the area except for an Associates at a local community college but that's really nothing. ITT Tech is nearby but isn't that school a money scam?
Marketing Degree
This is probably the easiest. I could go to JMU and get a Bachelor in Marketing then probably move to DC. I'd like to start off being a marketing analyst for the Washington Redskins. I love football and they have an internship for graduates that even pays[ good and they give housing benefits. Though this doesn't seem like the most fun job to me, I could probably get free season passes for the family.
Voted because I can
more of a software and gaming person so yeah. I would pick music but I can't find any dub step software
Marketing is solid job.
No mathematics based careers? And no literature/heavy reading based career? Damn, we are very different. Going to study Political Science and Philosophy in Stanford (or Columbia) myself, but if you have to ask Computer/Software programming seems the most challenging, and thus, the most rewarding.
God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy.
Do what you want to do. I would go for music/marketing. Voted for marketing tho.
Finally 500 posts YAY.

Meh; IMO FL doesn't have a good automation vst. Either invest in one or just go with Ablton if you want Dubstep. It's what Skrillex uses and he has a few interviews about Ablton.
"I think, for laptop producers especially, it's just so intuitive in the box. Everything is laid out and you don't have to go searching for things like automation or plug-in parameters - in fact, all the things that are really hard to do in other DAWs. Ableton's just very fluid and quick."

These are just what I find fun or interesting. I don't see myself doing anything else.
