if you wanted to know im completely stock beside my sound card
vista home premium
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 2.6Ghz
nvidia 6100v chipset
2GB DDR2 RAM (with vista home premium it only handle 4GB ram max thats including graphics card ram so i cant get 4)
ECS Iris8 motherboard
WD 500GB HDD
sound blaster audigy LS
yes i know its not the best but im not trying to make some monster gaming machine just something for the occasional gaming
i use my 360 for games like call of duty and gears of war and halo..
As long as your pc supports PCI-X (express) then go for it. It's like one of the best (CoD4 capable).
ya i have express x16
I had an ATI radeon 9600 graphics card. When i brought it home i figured out it doesnt fit in my computer... Sighhh back to family chipset. Dont complain about your computer its betta than mines.
Then get it.
is there much of a difference between the GT and the GTS?
8600GTS is faster because of it uses higher core clock. GT uses less at like 540/1400 mHz I think, from the last I looked into it (I was gonna buy one, unfortunately I don't have PCI-X on my motherboard :/)
then odds are i wouldnt be able to play GTA4 <.<
meh that wasnt my main goal i wanted to be able to play stuff like halo 3, CoD4, farcry 2...things like that even if there not on high settings =/
I dont know how much more the gts is but I would get that over the gt.
the GTS is $70 and i would get it but i need to upgrade my PSU before i can do that (min req surpass what i have by like 100 or so watts -.-)
i dont plan on getting everything close together...i was gonna buy the stuff like a month or 2 apart so i was gonna get a GT to hold me over till i can get something better later on down the line
You should just get what you need for the gts instead of wasting money (and time). Just my opinion.
you dont know how much id like to do that but im so fucking impatient sometimes =/
and a professional procrastinator -.- so ill say ill get the PSU in a month or 2 but might not for 6+ >_<
fuck it im about to break down the GTS and a PSU -.-
