It's not pride, more of a distaste. I would help, but, even though there are many tutorials, he/she wants a teacher. This means:
a) He/she is too lazy to read a few easy instructions.
b) He/she is too lazy to experiment.

Everything I have learnt is from reading how to open/save a .DTX and experimentation is PS. This is not to mention in between a shittonne of hw. There is not much you can't learn from a little fucking around.
