    Get a NVIDIA video card. Get a 460 (uses two 6 pin connectors).

    Dunno about amd processors, so I can't help you there.

    AMD processors are horrible... They have incredibly low benchmarks and burn up within a year...

    You probably shouldnt have to upgrade anything if you are just getting a new monitor. afaik the 5450 is perfectly capable of going to 1920x1080, but I cant speak for performance in games at that reso.

    The 5770 seems like a pretty good launching point for a new one though. You cant look for getting anything too powerful with a 500w PSU. Keep in mind it has to run everything else in your computer too.

    I have three computers in this house that would like to have a word with you. Specifically an old system with a 3500+ that still plays new gen games.

    Thats my problem, i want to play games on max res and max quality without lag. Gtx 550 it can run even on a 400w psu with one 6 pin connector.

    @DJ Delko

    If you want an AMD cpu and gpu, aim for cheaper stuff unless you can beef up the PSU.
