You need ALL of the books.
I used to hack games, and after i made an aimbot and shooting through walls and fly hack and all the features you see these days, it got really boring cuz there wasn't anymore of a challenge. I found myself to start shifting toward real software programming and making software which helped people instead of undoing people's work (game hacking). Lol, i think a game hacking site was the best place for me to this, hehe.
You can start with McGraw Hill's C++ The Complete Reference to get started. It's a good book. But for game hacking, you'll need to learn a lot.
Well i started with C++ for Dummies and then did some courses and got some more books and then when i felt confident enough i dived into game hacking.
So i guess you need to learn the absolute basics to understand the rest
