    Why the F***?

Why the fuck is the world trying to screw up the internet.
Its like the internet is the new oil, the new diamond, the new vodka.
Gawd dammit. What do you think are they after?
Maybe the internet is the only weapon against politicians now
Maybe there is a pot of gold in the end of the internet
    Maybe waldo is here
Maybe there a new hit porn site bigger than brazzers
Maybe oil is produced through the internet now
Maybe God hid the apple of eden in the internet
Maybe there is a place called nutella land and the fucking american politicians want it.

What do you think are they after?

government wants as much control over people as possible, guess they think we have to much free will on the internet thus it must be destroyed.

The internet is "providing" freedom to people, and the government doesn't agree with this.
In my country they are gonna put a tax on internet usage /

The internet is important, and used by millions if not billions of people, now put a tax of 2€ on the internet and they just earned 2 billion.

Either way, we can't keep on accepting this bullshit, we have to stand and deliver at once, but who will start it?

Politicians don't destroy the internet through regulation, taxes, and censorship. They never can. Not the way internet corporations can. Not the way Google can, or even Facebook can.

It's not politician's fault. They only want money and power. Don't blame a hitman when someone gets killed. Sure, they did it, but they're not the ones you need to go after for revenge, or for preventing it from happening again.

You want an adversary, someone to fight, someone to point a finger at, look behind pols. In China, politicians could care less about censorship. They're not fascists. Most of them are engineers.
In America, Republicans (as usual) want rich peoples' money and Democrats (as usual) want naive peoples' votes. Follow the money and the propaganda and you'll get to the root of the problem.

The most obvious culprits are in the entertainment industry, since they have basically opposed every advancement in entertainment, ever. Thomas Edison created the entertainment industry, and he also created copyright laws and anti-piracy laws. Hollywood was founded in LA because he lived on the east coast. They wanted to steal his creations and use them to make money for themselves. The original pirates.

    Fast forward to the 80s.
    • Home taping is killing music - and it's illegal.
    • "I say to you that the VCR is to the American film producer and the American public as the Boston strangler is to the woman home alone."
    • "Don't Copy That Floppy!" (This actually taught idiots who had no idea before how to copy games so their friends could play at home)
    • You wouldn't steal a car.
    • Don't be a knock-off Nigel!

It goes on. Piracy, for the most part, is about getting access to things you couldn't have otherwise. Look at Russia/Ukraine and the rest of Eastern Europe and every other underprivileged country. The West doesn't pirate nearly as much. The USA has the lowest piracy rate in the world. Anti-piracy is like McDonalds suing knockoffs in third-world countries - they want to expand their markets there. Globalization means every company thinks they're entitled to a market share of every country in the world, and they're gonna enforce their territory.

Censorship in countries like America is usually directed against porn. Santorum basically wanted to declare a national war on smut. It's the whole "think of the children!" bit. It's harmless. He's trying to play Moses, to hold back the Red Sea. It'll never get anywhere, but Republicans get to say they're trying to save America from moral decline.

Censorship in Australia and France is hilarious, honestly. Politicians are trying to censor "hate speech," general fantastic racism such as Encyclopedia Dramatica articles, gun/bomb websites, Holocaust denial, Neo-nazis, the PLA and the KKK, and the obvious porn. They dropped porn in Australia after a government study found that half of boys had seen internet porn, but only something like 1% of girls. This surprised absolutely nobody.
Also, apparently, Australians want to ban violent flash games. I wish that was a joke.

What is hilarious is that politicians there are trying to gain votes from what we Americans call bleeding-heart liberals, who whine about freedom of speech and civil rights all day long, bet then turn around and say the usual "when we do it, it's right." I understand why Germany and France ban Nazis, though. Germany wants to look like they're completely totally beyond it, and the French are cheese-eating surrender monkeys who shit themselves every time they see a guy with a swastika tattoo. They scurred. Here, it's the people's fault. They are literally asking for it. Pols are right for giving it to them.

The middle eastern countries are obvious. They know that the internet brings freedom of speech and free communication, and this is extremely dangerous when everyone hates you, is armed, dangerous, fanatical, and violent and you're trying to keep them down. The Arab Spring proved this beyond a doubt.

China is also pretty clear. They're not like the Arabs: their people are sane and stable, secular, disarmed, dutiful, hard-working, not greedy, not envious, agreeable, mostly satisfied, obedient, and mostly employed. Internal tensions are low, money is flowing in like the Niagara Falls, and they just blackballed the only threat to the system, Bo Xilai. The system is going gangbusters. (If you know who Bo Xilai is, ha ha ha)
No way they're changing their program now.

Yes I'm high. I accidentally clicked my mpgh bookmark.

No one gave a shit about the internet 15 years ago. It's when everyone started using it, then it became a problem. Without the government passing gay legislation, they would be out of the job.
