Thinking about going in the Army

Idk about Americanos, but the pay for Defence in Aus is pretty good + there's no tax + you get discounts at certain places. Pretty sweet deal.

Not sure how it works in Britain, but here in America..

You'll be locked into a 6(?) year commitment where they can and will deploy you to war whenever the hell they want. If you don't abide by your commitment it is a federal crime and you will go to prison for a very long time.

It won't fuck his mind up. Grow the hell up, this isn't Vietnam, WW2, or Korea.

He'll get plenty of respect. People will thank him everywhere he goes, and he'll eat for free at more restaurants than he can count. Just because you're a prick who hates people who make freedom possible, doesn't mean everyone else does.

It's a noble thing to want to defend your country, but you have to want to do it for the right reasons.

If you join the army, you can't "try it out" like @Ghost said, if the chef thinks you are really liking the army, you will not get out of there early... Same happend to my dad... he liked so much that the chef keept him in the army until he was 35 years

Well, I'll be going off of what @Ghost said. You can't just "try it out" - and then when you get dull of the Army life you say, "Hey, I'm going home now". You enlist for years at a time, and if there is a war at the time you are in the Army - you'll never leave the Army. No matter how tough, big, or mentally strong you are. You ever seen those shows where people who have been in wars have nightmares for the rest of their life? Amputated limbs? You do have a chance to live with those, a bigger chance to live with the nightmares, and fear of anything related to war.

Also, you can't just go into the Army for more respect. That's kind of like JUST going in for more respect. Yeah, they do great things for our country, and yes they're praised and they do get a lot of respect for what they do; but if you're going in JUST for respect - why bother?
