How do I get my avatar to show full-size?

I've figured out that the max avatar size seems to be 200x250, but, whenever I upload an avatar it only shows as an fraction of that. Does anyone know why and how to change it?

Donators, staff, etc get bigger avatars. Normal members only have 150x150 I believe. Cocksuckers have 50x50.
