Listen, there is no fair perspective. Wrong is wrong, you can not have two options that are both right in a scenario like this. It has been proven that everything you feel are caused by your brain using chemicals, your brain stops when you die, how can you use them anymore? Therefore you feel nothing.

Oh well, we've had a thread about this before. My response then was the same. There's way too many options and opinions (even if more than half of them are illogical) to make a clear decision and say "THIS IS THE RIGHT WAY!!".

So I look at it like this: I have no fucking idea what will happen after my death, I only know what can happen in my life. Therefor I'm going to try to enjoy my life, and live it to the fullest. (As cheesy and corny as that may sound.)

Patrick Jane from the Mentalist put it in a great way when talking about money vs health, he said: "When the game is over, the pawn and the king go back into the same box."

Whatever happens to us is most likely the same, so trying to live a long and meaningful life seems to be the best choice.

Look at someone with brain damage. They had the same 'soul' both before and after; but they are totally different people. If you shutdown a segment of your brain, you lose that part of your 'soul.' Thus your 'soul' is just your personality, just a part of your brain.

Here is an interesting thought:

If the universe has a finite amount of matter, but time itself is infinite, then eventually at some point in time, all matter will rearrange itself exactly as it has at this particular point in time.

If the universe is infinite in distance, then it is also true that if you travel through the universe, eventually you will find a subset of matter formed exactly as it is here on earth and thus there might be two instances of our planet somewhere else in space (in theory, there should be.) at different and the same points in time.

I honestly think the idea of reincarnation is just plain stupidity. I'm positive that some people believe in reincarnation just to relieve their fright of ceasing to exist.

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't worry about death while still being alive. Just enjoy your days as the last, like everyone says, as you never know when death approaches you.
