To make .REZ mods, you're going to need to extract the .REZ files, edit the .DTX file, and recomplie it into a .REZ file. Here are the tools required:

REZXTRACT
As the name implies, the purpose of this is to extract .REZ files. To understand which .REZ file you want to extract, follow this simple guide:

• GUNS_T_PV_[GUNTYPE] is for TEXTURES; the skin of the gun. This is what you can edit in Photoshop.
• GUNS_M_PV_[GUNTYPE] is for MODELS; the structure of the gun. The tools needed to modify this aren't included as they require more knowledge and an advance understanding; this is for beginner modders.
• GUNS_SND_[GUNTYPE] is for SOUNDS; as the name suggests, the firing sound of all the weapons.
• NOTE: There are other .REZ files as well, but they, again, require a deeper understanding.

NOTE: To select the file/folder, press the file button (top left).


DTX CONVERT/PLUG-INS
To open the .DTX files in Photoshop, you need to convert the type of .DTX file from "Nexon" to "Lithtech". The plugins included are needed in order for Photoshop to read the files. To install the plugins, follow these instructions:

• Put MSVCIRTD.dll and msvcrtd.dll in the main folder of your Photoshop folder.
• Put IMFLithDTX.dll and DTXFormat.8bi in [PhotoshopFolder]/Plug-Ins/File Formats

NOTE: The plugins will only work for versions CS3, CS4 and CS5. IT DOES NOT WORK IN CS6

After you open the file, modify it, and save it as a .DTX again, you will need to reconvert it back to "Nexon" format.



NOTE: To select the file/folder, press the file button (top left).


REZ INJECT
Rez Inject is the file you need to use to put the .DTX file into the .REZ file. Follow the picture as follows:



In the first row, click on the "..." This is where you select what you want to inject the .DTX into (e.g. GUNS_T_PV_[AR, SMG, SR, etc.]).
The second box is where you select the .DTX files you want to get injected (i.e. what you just modded/downloaded). Do this by clicking "Add" and select the .DTX file.

After you open the file, modify it, and save it as a .DTX again, you will need to reconvert it back to "Lithtech" format.
