Katniss and Peta fell in love, but... I don't know. There was a subtle sadness to the story's end that somehow propagates itself in the last couple of paragraphs. It really is hard to explain, you have to read the series.

The war is over, Katniss wins, and falls in love with Peta. But really, does it make any difference? Coin, the rebellion leader tries to reginite the Hunger games, Katniss is ruined (her sister's death at the hands of her best friend. Her mother too heart-broken to ever see Katniss again.) Haymitch goes back to drinking; nothing has changed in their eyes. The war, the deaths, they see it for what it is, a perpetuating cycle. They've given up on all that they've fought for.

WHAT? You cried at the end?!?!?! At the end, I was so mad. That book was terrible! They train, they go through the Capitol, having the GREATEST members of their group die, and it turns out they didn't have to do anything, because the rebels did it all for them. At somepoint in there, I thought the author ran out of ideas, and was spouting random things. They go through the Capitol. Finnick and Boggs die. Peeta makes it to the mansion but it doesn't matter because the rebels liberated the districts from the Capitol already. The elite team was made for nothing. Oh, Katniss' sister dies. Oh, Coin wants a new hunger games. Wait, Katniss just killed Coin. Then they go home and Peeta marries Katniss. The end.

Oh and I liked the Star Trek with Patrick Stewart
