If you're going for a weighted grade yes, other than that no.

Shit I hit post reply before I finished. It depends on how your school incorporates them. Public schools that still use them only use them for sports/clubs etc. Some private schools incorporate then into your weighted average (EX: 4.0 is max but weighted can get to 5.0)
