I was not aware of this but the files under "League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_air_client\releases\0.0. 0.220\deploy\assets" are not checked by the server for consistency (AvA, Warface, etc. does have the initial screen check files for size and consistency). This opens up a door to niche screen effects and I have not seen any posts here showing this.
Simply renaming files and overwriting existing ones within 'assets' works in client. However, changing existing sound bytes to bigger one's does slow down the client slightly for obvious reasons (maths) but is negligible if you don't go overboard. In the folder "assets\sounds\en_US\champions" you can change any sound to any other. This new sound sounds whenever that champ is picked.
I don't know whether in-game sounds run through the server or the client. It is logical that it runs through the client however I wouldn't put it past them to have taunts, jokes, etc. server sided. If they don't than this simple method of cut/paste will work there too; but I have not located the in-game champion sounds.
Great input. I appreciate the time and effort it took to come up with such a reply.
Honestly, do you think I cannot read the date on a forum post? Don't answer that. It was hypothetical.
didn't know about this, nor would i have bothered mucking around with the files to check if this sort of thing was possible.
thanks for the post bruh (;

Stop talking; not once do I say that I figured this out or made this, hell, I even linked to the original forum post. Really all that I was doing is bringing to the attention of the forum that you could very easily alter client files without the patcher noticing and effecting core gameplay.
You're not helping yourself and I refuse to converse with you anymore because it is obvious that you are only trying to increase your post count and never have any real input or criticism.
LoL this is crazy stuff man, haha i dont want phreak dancing on my pc xD
