I don't like Notch, but this new idea seems really cool. Basically, imagine Shores of Hazeron mixed with minecraft mixed with an electrical engineer's favorite game.

0x10c allows you to customize and literally engineering (circuit component by circuit component [ analog & digital electronics ] ) the subsystems you place on your ship. Some ICs you can use include RAM, and EEPROM.

Each ship is also equip with a 16 bit DCPU (a processing unit fully equip with interrupts). The DCPU (along with many other electrical devices you engineering for your space-craft) can be attached to peripheral devices such as computer screens and even holographic display units.

There are ports you can mount on the electrical devices you create as to allow the to communicate with other devices.

Notch promises that you will not need to be an electrical engineer to have a weapon control system, but I am sure being one would help out a lot and make you more than a slave to the electronics provided to you.

Programming the DCPU is just like programming a CPU in real-mode. It is pre intense. We'll prolly never see memory paging so it could be a little bit of work to setup an operating system inside of it lol.

Soh yeah, jetaos has a new platform. Manage dem buffers carefully because there is no protected mode on the DCPU and viruses are a very big possiblity.
