Help me choose new Headphones.

I need a good pair of headphones, so no earbuds please.

I want to use it to listen music, but also be good for gaming. (It doesn't have to be superamazingomg i can hear precisely where that sound came from), aslong as the quality of the music is (very) good aswell as the gaming good or better, I'm fine.

Preffer if it looks baus, but doesn't have to do that too.


Doesn't need a inbuild mic, actually preffer no inbuild mic, since I already have a Blue Snowball.

Budget 150-200$ (guess it can be a little over since i'm having that cash but then in euros), but cheaper w/ those requirements is ofcourse always welcome.

I always recommend Audio Technica M-50's whenever a thread like this comes along. I have a pair and they are the absolute best pair you can get under 200 dollars. They're extremely well rated on sites like head-fi.org. They also run at like 36 ohms or so so they don't need an external amp if you dont have one already.

How is having a decent pair of headphones "PC shit"? I listen to music daily, I have an ipod and a s3 that I take with me everywhere. I commute to university so that means 2 hours out of my day spent on a bus, so I listen to music during my commute and during my downtime at home. Its worth the investment on a set of good headphones if you enjoy listening to music.

You don't realize the amount of resolution you lose by having a shitty pair of headphones. Its not like there's no reason there are more expensive headphones out in the market. A 100 dollar investment in a pair of good equipment that lasts you years is worth the price premium over some terrible quality (build and sound wise) that probably won't last you as long as a good pair. You probably don't listen to as much music throughout the day as I do. Why do you worry about what people spend their money on? People spend money on stupid shit all the time, buying 200 dollar pair of Jordans, 100 dollar polo shirts, whats wrong with spending money on things they'll actually use on a constant basis?
