Help with people that might have had experience on this

So I've thought about this a lot recently and I've really wanted to get my hair dyed.

Reason behind both nonos: Your teachers will judge you and therefore reflect that upon your grades / bad image of you ("Bad student, irresponsible you know.")

For the hair dye my parents would MOST likely allow it if MAYBE I got their permission to dye it a darker color that is not as noticeable as super bright colors and maybe the next time I dye my hair, brighter and brighter etc, work my way up, not necessarily saying I want WHITE hair or YELLOW hair. If you guys suggest anything for this it'd be greatly appreciated. (Maybe the first time I dye my hair I could go with brown.)

But my second dilemna is an earing. An earing is TOO noticeable and I don't know how I could persuade them to allow me to get one. I've thought about telling them I could always take the earring off but I never actually got a solid response on that. If you guys could, please give me some input on how to persuade them on BOTH these topics.

TL ; DR Wants to dye hair and pierce ears, parents think teachers will judge me negatively, how to persuade them? Excuses? How to get away?

Your parents are fucking retards. Grades are based on performance, not on looks. Otherwise it's discrimination, and teachers can lose their job over that. Why the fuck do you need your parents' approval to get dyed hair. The fuck are they going to do? Ground you?

My parents used to be highly against me piercing my body and dying my hair. I now have four earrings in my right ear, eight in the left, snakebites, my hips pierced, two dermals on my lower abdomen, and a bleached mohawk (going to do light blue with near-white highlights for that visual kei style yet not going to dress up in womens clothing like those japanese dudes do). Know how I got them to change their pinions? I just did it. I pierced my ears DURING school with a lighter and a safety pin, multiple times, in front of groups of people who were all pussies and thought I was "badass" for it (whereas I just did it because I was bored). For my hair I bought hair dye and bleached it at 1 in the morning before a school day so they couldnt stop me from going to school, then when I came home with a bunch of friends who were all complimenting me they sort of understood it's not "the devils style". For the piercings I just kept piercing myself. I was "grounded" for a week the first time, though I just had my friends over and we toked and watched A Clockwork Orange and Donnie Darko, as well as Tarantino movies.

At that time I also started playing more music, which my dad loved because both him and I are audiophiles. We built together a massive sound system for our basement where we could play music together and have jam sessions with my other friends, so that won him over. Him actually being happy for once improved my mothers mood, and well she liked the "artistic side" of me whereas my brother was a well-dressed goodie two-shoes. Lastly, I got straight A's (my school was a joke I can't even be proud of that) and aced my honors classes higher than anyone else. I graduated fifth of my class (only eight of us had grades above B's).

Lastly, I build a lot of shit with circuitry. For instance, right now I am planning out a massive Audio Spectrum Analyzer Graphic EQ made of Acrylic piping, EL-wire, a PIC circuitboard, and a few ASM snippets for functionality. Not many people who look the way I do can do this shit, hell, all of them are kids who just fuck up like crazy, meanwhile I'm actually exploring highly intellectual shit that will be used in future applications. I own my own business as well as go to work on time and when I need to. My SAT scores were 360 points below a perfect score. I can keep going on, but you know what? It took a fuck load of work for me to get where I am now, especially with the way I look. You WILL be discriminated against. I have ******s trying to pick fights with me all of the time, however if you are polite while looking like this you will gain INCREDIBLE allies. Walk down the streets of newark looking like this, the gangs go to the other side of the streets to avoid you. As my friend Grinch put it, "no black man in his right mind would want to fuck with a crazy ass white boy lookin like dat". Appearance is everything in this world, inside and out. If your outside appearance is completely agreeable with a stereotype, people will judge before they speak. As soon as you fuck up that stereotype with your inner appearance, shit gets real, and you realize you can go further than you thought looking the way you do.

Just fucking do it.
