It doesn't mean for shit... Big thing that could happen if you dont find the problem is that you can save your important files and reinstal Windows however there's many fixes like delete ur whole CF (APPDATA/Document/PROgrAM FILES) Files.

I had this problem too, i had to uninstall all anti-malware programs. I had malware bytes and IObit anti-malware and had to uninstall both programs to let crossifre open again. As soon as i uninstalled them it opened right up with no problems.

P.S. no matter how many times u uninstall and reinstall CF it wont matter until u remove the anti-malware programs. I was frustrated for at least a week until i figured this out since the support from CF doesnt exist.

1.Right Click Crossfire Click Properties.
2 Search for version.ini or version configurations.
3 Drag it on your desktop.
4 Open verson.ini on your desktop with properties.
5 Now change the value into 1058
6 Now save it and make sure the "read me" option is checked.
