I vote in favor for the United States because during a time of warfare military necessity is required to keep our country safe from the enemy or to keep espionage, out of the united states. During the trial General Dewitt stated “ usually when countries fail it is due to enemies within the country.” This shows us that if a country does not keep out the enemy the country will be in a big risk of failure in war. This is supported by public law 503, for military necessity General Dewitt restricted Japanese from the Pacific after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Without restriction and internment of Japanese, will put the United States in a risk of being attacked again. In order to keep our country safe and out of risk from another attack me must intern and tighten the restrictions on Japanese Americans since at this time it was not possible to tell who is loyal and disloyal.
The successful prosecutions of the war requires every possible protection against espionage and against sabotage to national defense material, national defense premises, and national defense utilities. It was impossible at the time to bring around an immediate separation of loyal and disloyal Japanese Americans, we must segregate all into internment camps and hold restrictions to eliminate a threat to the United States. Executive order 9066 states “ in times of modern warfare which our shores are being threatened by enemy forces, the power to protect our country must be equal if not, greater than the danger that threatens us.
The respondent side clearly stated that the Japanese were not only held in camps for the safety of the United States but for there own safety against threatening anti Japanese groups. The respondent side also showed a picture of a baseball team as evidence that the Japanese were not held in camps against there will and that they were not mistreated and no evidence from the petitioner side shows mistreatment of the Japanese in these camps. The respondents also stated that executive order 9066 does not violate any amendments since this is during the time of world war 2 and it is called for military necessity to protect the United States from the enemy during the time of war no matter what.

The respondent side offered many evidence, examples, and facts to prove that the right thing to do was to hold and restrict the power of the Japanese Americans in order to keep our country safe from possible threats and since there is no way of knowing who is loyal and disloyal is the reason why all Japanese Americans had to be segregated. For the safety of our country and the Japanese Americans is why I vote in favor for the United States.
