Was dumb, used a tool, now I get Bad Serial Number Given in Setup

Hey.
I will start off by saying that I was drunk off my ass.
I started playing DayZ and decided to get some hacks. Stupidly, I believed the nice YouTube video that came with a exe download. After I open ArmA 2, it says Bad Serial Number Given in Setup.
At this point, my drunken self eventually said, "Fuck it. I'll leave sober-me figure this shit out. He always fixes my shit."
So here I am now. Thanks, asshole-drunken me.
I brought a new key for $2 and tried to insert it into the regedit manually, but it says some shit about permissions. I made it so everyone could have full read/write to registry, but still no luck.
I then use the key-changer that someone put up, and put my new key in. It says to run as administrator so I do. When I run it as admin, same problem.

I am re installing ArmA 2 and OA now, has anyone else had this sort of trouble? Will update as soon as ArmA 2 and OA finished installing (~5-6 hours).

Do a system restore instead. It's a lot faster

Essentially did everything in this post before posting this, didn't work. I'll update in 5-6 hours, blah blah blah.

Hmmph. I had this problem but fixed it on accident by messing with Registry ( not advising you to )

system restore is usually the best thing to try first i was in the same boat once and it saved me having to reinstal
