Anime's always been half-assed filler crap for about 1/3-1/2 of the episodes.

The ova says differently. Its amazing how much better this show would be without fillers lol. Maybe even average.

I don't understand, are you saying that if they didn't put time into making fillers and they made OVAs instead then the show would be better?

I'm saying if they put in time in making the main plot then the show would look a lot better. The example is the OVA looking good.

As much as people might hate an off season, making the show up to current anime standards is definitely worth that sacrifice.
(especially because all the fillers are just terrible.).

Seriously, the biggest fights in naruto are awful in animation for no explained reason, not even going to touch the dialogue/flashback moments.

I guess I could deal with an off season if it would make the actual canon have better animation, but I don't have a problem with the animation either, so I don't really care. When the Pain fight came out (the first half) had pretty good animation, before Naruto when fox mode it looked pretty good. (Especially since that's like, 3 years old now).

I also actually enjoyed almost all the fillers, (I haven't seen the Chikara arc yet, but it looks really good), stuff like the 12 Ninja Gaurdian arc and the arc about the 6 tail Jiinchuriki and etc. were really cool, the only stupid fillers we had to deal with were stuff like the Life at Sea arc or whatever, but we still had a cool episode in there (the one where he went Sage mode to fight that ghost thing on the island).

I guess I would trade the bad fillers for an off-season and better animation, but I wouldn't want to miss out on cool fillers for that.
